168th Street Improvements – West Dodge to West Maple

About the Project

168th Street from West Dodge Road to West Maple Road is an important corridor serving the City of Omaha, Douglas County, and the increasingly rapid growth in the northwest areas of the metropolitan region. This section of 168th Street currently carries daily traffic volumes beyond the capacity of a typical three-lane roadway. Congestion is experienced at the intersection with Blondo Street during peak hours, with the volume of traffic making it difficult for vehicles to turn on and off 168th Street. In addition, increased development north of Maple Road has placed an emphasis on the need to improve safety and increase capacity along this corridor. Project benefits include improving safety, capacity and decreasing peak hour congestion.

Save the Date! Pre-Construction Public Meeting – January 31, 2018

The City of Omaha is hosting a pre-construction meeting regarding the planned widening of 168th Street between West Dodge and West Maple Roads to a four-lane section divided by a median. 168th Street is a vital corridor serving the City, Douglas County and growth in northwest Omaha. Increasing traffic volumes have made travel difficult during peak hours. This project will improve capacity and safety, while decreasing congestion. You are invited to learn more about the project, meet the contractor and learn about construction timing:

Doors Open: 6:30 p.m.
Short Presentation: 6:50 p.m. (followed by an Open House)
Doors Close: 8:30 p.m.

Where possible, an accessible meeting facility for disabled persons will be provided. Appropriate provisions for the hearing and visually impaired persons will be made if the City of Omaha is notified by January 26, 2018.
